The People Behind the Crate

A small, independent crew who'd rather hand you a record than a playlist.

Why this log exists

Melodycratequestn started as a shared notes file between friends who met over the same record bins. Every week someone would turn up with a find: a Zambian rock LP, a library record with a killer drum break, a Japanese folk album nobody had heard of. The notes got long enough that it felt selfish not to share them.

So here it is, a running log of discoveries written the way we'd talk across the counter. Real names, real records, and enough context that you can go and find them today.

How we pick

Every row has been listened to in full by at least one of us. We favour records that are actually findable, through reissues, Bandcamp or fair second-hand prices. We don't accept payment, free promo in exchange for coverage, or affiliate deals. If we get something wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we'll fix it.

Some of us play badly; all of us listen well.
